The more people use machine translation, the faster it will develop. On the search engine side, I think services will emerge on Google and other engines, that use language translation to allow sites in one language to be searched in another. The machine translations create some horrible (and hysterical) translations, but they are so much better from last year and the year before and the years before that. They are improving. Also note, this doesn't mean your blog will be translated into the language "permanently". It means that users have an option to read your blog in different languages. It does not mean that search engines will crawl through your blog in that language, storing it in their international databases, so international readers won't be able to get search results with your blog's information in tht language. The blog must be written in that language to get picked up by the search engines. This is merely a service for users who stumble on your pages from a search engine in English (or whatever language) and then have the option of viewing a translated page to help them read it in their own language. I look forward to the day when these restraints are lifted and all information is available, no matter the language. I think the world will truly become the global village talked about all the time and a better understanding may occur. You are right.
