Hello all!

[ This post has served well for the 1.2 beta 2 I'd say ]

Today we release the updated version of Sandy 1.2, as some of you know from the SVN.
So get that instead of the beta. Good luck!

-------- Useful info -----------------------
I'm proud to have been delegated the task of publishing the next beta of the excellent Sandy 3D library and engine (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

This second beta ( Sandy 1.2 beta 2 for AS2 ) contains a lot of changes, mostly in an effort to make it faster, but also to iron out some inconsistencies in its inner workings.

You'll find a preliminary list of changes in the wiki.
We have added a discussion of the new Camera3D, its creation and features.

Being a beta release, the documentation is lagging behind as usual, but you may have some use for the 1.1 documentation. And of course you should make good use of the tutorials here and elsewhere.

The changes to the API are not too many, and you should be able to port 1.1 applications to 1.2, fairly easily. If you read the Sandy tutorials, you can port the examples to the 1.2 version with a few changes to the init() method. You find the 1.2 versions of the examples here.
You may also benefit from some of the FAQ listed here.

Attached below you'll find a ZIP archive, containing both the Sandy library and the necessary Pixlib library.
Download and unpack the libraries into the directory, where you have your third party flash libraries.

The structure should be:
CODE
<your libs>/
          |sandy/
          |com/bourre/

Comments, questions and bug reports are welcome!
Questions under the appropriate forum and bug reports under "Bugs".

Note: Speaking of which, using clipping for textured skins may give weird results for now (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif).
Clipping is disabled by default and enabled by calling enableClipping( true ) on any Object3D.

An AS3 version is under way and better parsers for WRL and other 3D description formats are under development.

Good luck, and hopefully you'll find the new version nicer!
