Sandy's Forum _ AS2 1.x versions _ Forum help question

I can use the "View New Posts" option, but that shows only the most recent since I visited.

I tried the search function, for which you can set a date range, but I didn't see an option to show ALL posts in that date range. It still wants me to restrict the search with a search term.

Also, searching for "MovieSkin 1.2" fails, which it shouldn't, as there are posts with both words in it.

Hi Bruce,

Yes that's an unclear point for me too. IPB forum is very complete, but is also quite hard to use.
I must say that I'm just looking at the main forum of this board, and look each post marked as unread since my last visit.

If you find he way to do this trough the search page, I think it would be interessting to post the process here smile.gif

It would be nice to have all posts for the last week or any other period listed by searching.
On the other hand, it's fairly easy to visit one department ( or sub forum ) at a time and look at the latest additions. After all they are listed by descending dates.

Thanks for the tip, Bertil.

I still have a terrible time with the forum search. I usually use google (with site:...) to search the forum because the forum search rarely gives me good results.

Is it me, or did the software change?

I used to see all the posts in a thread. Now they are all collapsed at the bottom of the page. I couldn't find a way to set it in the preferences.

Any thoughts?

Bruce

You should see all the posts in a thread, unless for long threads, where you get pagination.
The number of posts to show on each page, you can set.

What exactly does it mean when you say that all posts are collapsed at the bottom of the page?
What's between the top of the page and the collapsed posts - empty space?

The only version of "collapsed" I see, is the list of threads ( headings ) in a sub forum or department, such as Technical help.

[Edit] Gee, I didn't know this. You actually can switch between presentation modes blink.gif

When you look at this thread, above your first post in the blue line, where you say: "How do I view posts ...",
and to the far right on that blue line is a drop down "Options" menu.

There you can choose between Otline, Standard and Linear+ mode. What you have is Outline and what you want is probably Standard.

You learn something new every day, thanks!

Yep, thanks!

I often learn something new, but today it was thanks to you.

I couldn't figure out what changed...

Thanks,
Bruce
