Full Version: 1.2 Download?
stormer
Hello,

I'm new to Sandy3D and I've spent a lot of time searching the site. Right now I'm trying to get the latest version of Sandy but I'm a little confused.

If I go to the "Download" page it says 1.1 is the stable version and 1.2 is still beta and that the latest download for 1.2 beta can be found here:

http://www.flashsandy.org/forum/index.php?...1736&#entry1736

This download was posted in February and I think it's old 1.2.

If I go to this page:
http://www.flashsandy.org/faq/sourcecode

It says 1.2 is now the latest stable release, this was posted in May. So I'm assuming this is the version I want. The problem I'm having is I want the May 1.2 release but the only link given is this:

http://sandy.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/sandy/as2/trunk/

and so far all I can do is download each file one at a time. Call me lazy but wow that'd take a lot of time :)

If the May 1.2 is in a zip somewhere, could someone please let me where it is? I can't wait to get started using it!

Thanks

Hi, and welcome!
You're right, it is a bit confusing as thing may be when the development is heavy wink.gif
Now, the version in the forum download section is beta 2 and ten updated version in the SVN is later and according to the main developer and project owner Thomas, more stable.

It's certainly annoying to download one file at a time from the SVN, so ro get tat you should use a SVN client, like TurtoiseSVN. If you are using Windows, it will integrate with WindowsExplorer as object menus ( right click).

You should use https://sandy.googlecode.com/svn/trunk to get the source via the SVN client.
You will get the libraries in an updatable version, that contains meta data directories and files.
After your first download, you can right click on the root directory at any time and require an update to the latest version.

Yes, the source tree is intended to be downloaded with an SVN client, not a web browser. I'll make that clearer on the web page. I think someone else is looking into getting the latest 1.2 build posted.

I updated the wiki here:

http://www.flashsandy.org/faq/sourcecode

Let me know if that doesn't make it clearer

Thanks for your help! Before today, I've never heard of a SVN client so I guess that's why I was confussed.

I'm downloading it now!

Thanks again!

P.S.

Petit, your tutorials are great! Without them I would be lost.

Hello again,

I'm using TortoiseSVN now but no matter what URL I use it asks me for a username and password. Can some please let me know what I'm doing wrong.

I've gone to:
http://sandy.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/sandy/as2/trunk
and
https://sandy.googlecode.com/svn/trunk

Is it supposed to be asking for a username and password?

Thanks

If I remember this right, the first address should allow anonymous download, while the second should require password and allow for commits, that is making changes to the SVN content.
The 1.2 version from the SVN will be posted here in the forum as a ZIP archive later today, as it is now regarded as faoirly stable and feature complete.
stormer
Well that's what I figured too since it's not https://, but regardless, it is still asking for a username and password, I promise.

Thanks

I figured out my problem. I was doing "Import" instead of "Checkout".

Thanks for your help!
